Dan Hoffman Joins Amherst Securities Groups as Head of Sales

Austin, TX – May 20, 2010 – Amherst Securities Group LP, a leading financial services provider to institutional investors in the mortgage sector, announced today that it has hired Dan Hoffman as Head of Sales. In this position, Mr. Hoffman will be responsible for managing Amherst’s fixed income sales group. Mr. Hoffman joins Amherst from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he had been Managing Director/Sales since 2008, and brings more than 20 years experience in the fixed income and mortgage-backed securities sectors to the position. He will be based out of Amherst’s New York office.

Prior to working at Royal Bank of Scotland, Mr. Hoffman was Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns and Co., where he worked for 22 years. As Head of Mortgage and Rate Sales at Bear, Stearns, Mr. Hoffman was responsible for all residential mortgage products; asset-backed securities, commercial mortgages, CDO and CLOs; and all U.S. rate products. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business in Finance/Marketing.
