Stephen Coale, Managing Director, has worked with credit union investment portfolios since 1986. He is an institutional investments expert well versed in all NCUA rules and regulations pertaining to investment securities (703.5), Prompt Corrective Action (PCA), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) 115 issues.
Steve created the SLYD-CR (Safety, Liquidity, Yield, Diversification, Cashflow, and Regulatory Consideration) methodology, a cash management method designed exclusively for credit unions.
A recognized authority on investment policy development and implementation, Steve has authored numerous articles for the credit union trade papers Credit Union Times and Credit Union Journal and is often cited in investment-related stories.
An active educator, Steve delivers twenty (20) CU Board Investment Training Sessions annually. He is a registered sponsor with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and a past chairman of the Financial Suppliers Advisory Committee, a division of CUES (1993-1995).
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montana, Missoula. Steve is registered as a General Securities Representative, a General Securities Principal and has completed the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination.
Chris Thomas, Senior Vice President, has been working with credit union portfolios since 1994. Chris is well versed in all NCUA rules and regulations pertaining to institutional investments.
Chris has been an investment consultant with many Fortune 500 companies. He delivers 15-20 credit union investment training sessions annually.
Chris holds
a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Chris is registered as a General Securities Representative
and has completed the Uniform Securities Agent State
Law Examination.
Terry Tiemann, Assistant Vice President, brings fifteen years experience working with institutional investment clients to the Amherst Credit Union Team. Terry is adept at creating, maintaining and reviewing client portfolios, using a variety of software systems.
Terry also prepares the documentation of trades for settlement, confirms and reviews the details with clients and does a recap in Microsoft Excel™ to double-check the accuracy of figures. She gathers delivery and payment instructions, makes note of the sell and/or settlement date and follows up with clients shortly thereafter to reconfirm that all are agreed upon and correct. She maintains reports for clients who safekeep bonds with Amherst and prepares P&I reports as required. Terry checks the latest Bloomberg numbers to make sure clients receive full compensation.
Terry is registered as a General Securities Representative and has completed the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination.
Linda Eichenlaub, Senior Vice-President, serves Amherst in a variety of capacities.
As member of Amhersts trading desk team, Linda focuses her efforts on fixed income security analysis utilizing various specialty analytical tools, including The Yield Book, Derivative Solutions and ANSER, as well as Amhersts propriety analytical systems. These tools allow Linda and our other traders to perform a wide scope of analytics on fixed income products, including evaluation of complex derivative securities, cash flow scenario analysis, and OAS (option adjusted spread) and duration analysis.
Linda has been working with fixed income investments and institutional portfolios since 1987. She provides much of the fixed income analysis used by Amhersts Credit Union team. Linda also trades adjustable rate mortgage pools, where she primarily focuses on products for our credit union clients. In addition, Linda provides hedging analysis for our desks ARM positions.
Linda is registered as a General Securities Representative and has completed the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination.
